Depending on the day’s wind and waves, your journey takes you toward the charming Agios Nikolaos or the fishing village of Pachia Ammos. Along the way, you’ll catch your breath, taking in the towering cliffs, the dramatic sea caves and those stunning bays that are all but inaccessible by land. 🌅💦
Eastern Crete is wild and rugged, and during July–August, the famous Meltemi winds turn the coastline into a thrilling playground for experienced kayakers. Each route, ranging from 12–21 km, is carefully chosen daily by your expert guide, Stelios, who knows every cove, current, and hidden gem along this breathtaking coastline. ⚓🔥

Questions about Full-Day Sea Kayaking Experience in Mirabello Bay
What kind of kayaks are provided?
Single or tandem (double) kayaks are available. People with no experience will be given a tandem kayak as those are easier to paddle unless you want to try a single. Experienced paddlers can get superb boats from Nigel Dennis, Valley, North Shore, P&H and 3kymia sea kayaks.
What is the total paddling distance of this trip?
We will paddle around 15-18km and there will be plenty of time for swimming and snorkelling. Distance can be shortened or extended based on group needs.
Is this trip suitable for first-timers?
Yes, no kayaking experience is needed to join this trip.
What should I bring with me?
If you don’t want to have lunch in the taverna be sure you pack your lunch. Other than that you will need 1.5lt of water (ideally in small bottles),sun glasses, hat, sunscreen, swimsuit, lycra shirt or any t-shirt ideally with UV protection. You will also need shoes that you do not mind getting soaked as you will get your feet wet.

Really nice experience. Good organised. There was enough time to snorkel and to enjoy a small beach, which is only possible to access by boat or walking on foot. If you want to kayak on Crete this is the number one adress.

Kayak for two people could be slightly bigger , because for tall people it is tight. The tour was ok but we expected more caves and snorkeling places during the trip, however we had to come back hurry due to weather conditions.
